A contemporary exhibition of textile artists using art, design, mixed media, print, stitch and weaving. Look forward to seeing you.
We are group of qualified textile artists focusing on the contemporary work of art, design and stitch to explore a wider remit of the textile world. Our inspirations are diverse as are the members in their work of art journals, design and textile creations.
Norah Stocker – “Nature’s Decay” looks at the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi and impermanence. The subtle beauty of loosing colours through nature’s cycle to regenerate and rebirth begin again.
Lorna Rand – “Impressions of Sutton Hoo”. Lorna’s work is based on the rebuilt helmet and the amazing gold and silver artefacts discovered in the excavations.
Julie Chellingsworth – “Bringing Plant Therapy into Focus”. Julie’s passions are textiles and therapies; her work ‘draws’ upon many of the plants known for their therapeutic properties.
Sheila Parsons – “Kaleidoscope of Butterflies” inspires the use of colours, shapes and movement to develop patterns which are endless.
Lesley Sams - ""Greek Tragedy" . With a Classicist in the family there is always an interest in Greek history and culture and in today's turbulent times, ancient and modern collide.....
Linda Watt - ""Motion and Emotion" Inspired by facial expressions and movement of the body in every day life and activities.
