Norah Stocker lives near and runs her own business in Coggeshall, Essex. She is qualified Printmaker, Art, Design & Textile Artist and adult teacher of City & Guilds. She offers talks, teaching and mentors her exhibiting Focus group.

For the last few years Norah has been exploring the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi in her art, print and textile work. Natural forms and the spiritual symbolism, the cycle of life and rebirth, impermanence, decay and incomplete. Fine art printmaking is incorporated into her art on textiles and papers as it is in teaching.

Natures cycle of the seasons with the circle of endless beauty of natures colour, texture, harmony. The impermanence of the natural world and the cycle of rebirth. Norah is exploring ideas of creating visual decay in methods of applying inks in soft tonal colours and ghost prints to create small ancient art.

Norah has exhibited regularly throughout East Anglia in recent years. 2018 Quay Gallery, Snape Maltings Suffolk, Mill Tye Gallery, Saffron Walden Museum, Thaxted Guildhall. In the beginning of Fantasia Textiles:

I started Fantasia Textiles in 1999 selling my creations at the Braintree Museum, Essex. I had a wonderful time making small fabric character dolls out of unusual fabrics and embellished with beads. Each doll was sold with her character on her label. Small and unusual bags made out of fabrics I had created , little beaded amulet purses, fancy mirrors plus many other items.

Have you ever had an idea for a design and wanted to create this into stitch but using exciting techniques - then these workshops are for you. They will be fun and you will be able create your own designs.
